Best if: You want a lower premium and are willing to pay a higher deductible for the first three years. After three years, your deductible goes away and your premiums remain lower. This plan is designed to pay more benefits later — when you're older and more likely to need health care.
Plan G with the Innovative Discount Rider, you must meet an annual Plan Deductible before the plan pays anything (except preventive benefits) each year. This deductible automatically goes away January 1, following your third calendar year in which your policy is in force. If you drop the Innovative Discount Rider before year three, your premium amount becomes the Plan G premium amount and the preventive coverage would end.
Plan G with the Innovative Discount Rider pays the same benefits as Plan G after you have paid a calendar year $2,800 deductible (except preventive benefits). Benefits will not begin until your out-of-pocket expenses are $2,800. This is for the plan deductible in 2024. This amount may increase each year. This includes the Medicare deductibles for Part A and Part B, but does not include the plan’s separate foreign travel emergency deductible. Preventive benefits will be paid prior to the deductible being met.
